For Archbishop Joseph Ngo Quang Kiet to remain at the Archdiocese of Hanoi

To: - His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI - Vatican

Cc: -Ministry of Missionary of  Vatican
      - Hanoi Archbishop Joseph Ngo Quang Kiet

During the recent time in Vietnam , there have been information regarding Archbishop Joseph Ngo Quang Kiet, that he will leave his current position as Archbishop of Archdiocese of Hanoi as a result of a compromising agreement between the Vatican and Vietnam Communist state. This information has been released by the Vietnamese authority which has caused the public to panic and worry.

Such information breaks the hearts of all of us, the Christians who love the Apostolic church of holiness, unity and of love.

Archbishop Joseph Ngo Quang Kiet has been our " Good shepherd" and a skilled reaper of God, someone with a warm heart for all the poor and the underprivileged..

In the past years, by the grace of God, he has demonstrated an exceptional ability to lead, to gather and to expand the size of God's flock in the archdiocese of Hanoi, putting his safety aside to protect his flock during attacks by the forces of evil. He is the true image of a good shepherd just as Jesus had described :"I am the good shepherd, I know my sheep and my sheep know me"

He is indicative of righteousness, holiness, sharing the hardship of the faithful and of the Vietnamese people as a whole. He has won the hearts of all Christians not only in the archdiocese of Hanoi but throughout the country of Vietnam, and become the symbol of those who love the Truth, Justice and Peace.

During the past events when  the  Church of Vietnam- under  the rule of the Communist state- has been attacked, its property robbed, its faithful, priests and religious men and women beaten, its holy Cross destroyed... He was the solid stronghold, the shelter for those of us who need to take refuge in our commitment for the love of God and the Church.

His love and kindness have deeply touched and embedded in our flesh, becoming  essential as breath and hope for each and every faithful in the Archdiocese of Hanoi, in Vietnam and those who love Justice and Peace.

Should he be leaving, it would be an unmeasurable catastrophe for the faithful, for the Catholic Church in archdiocese of Hanoi  and of Vietnam in general. The direct impact (of his departure) would be the cause for unlimited number of concerns and doubts at the wisdom the wisdom and the direction of the Vatican.

Therefore in the wake of his possible departure, all of us unanimously and respectfully request as follow:

- Respectfully request that  Archbishop Joseph Ngo Quang Kiet be remaining at the Archdiocese of Hanoi in order to lead God's flock to the salvation of the souls.

- Respectfully petition to the Ministry of Missionary for reporting to His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI on our current status and our begging him for the stay of our Archbishop as his service provided to all faithful at the Archdiocese of Hanoi.

All of us would like to convey in advance our heartfelt thank for the attention of the Holy Father, the Holy See's Ministry of  Missionary and Archbishop Joseph Ngo Quang Kiet in granting our petition.

In His Hallow Name,

April 24,2010
