Dear [lawmaker],
As a constituent, I am writing in support of the H.R. 2407, the Nancy Gardner Sewell Medicare Multi-Cancer Early Detection Screening Coverage Act, which will help save lives from cancer. Please consider this bill in the Ways & Means Committee as soon as possible.
More than 600,000 people in America will die of cancer in 2024 alone. Too many of these individuals are diagnosed with cancer in later stages, when the disease is harder and more expensive to treat and too often when the disease has already spread.
Multi-cancer early detection tests are lifesaving innovations that can help detect dozens of cancer types for which there is no current screening tool. H.R. 2407 would create a pathway for Medicare to cover these tests and help save lives once they are approved by the FDA and shown to have clinical benefit.
Already, more than 250 members of Congress have signed on as cosponsors of the bill, but we need it to be considered by the Ways & Means Committee in order to move forward and be made into law.
Please consider H.R. 2407, the Nancy Gardner Sewell Medicare Multi-Cancer Early Detection Screening Coverage Act as soon as possible.
Sincerely,
[your name]
