The Colorado state Supreme Court's stunning decision to disqualify Trump from the 2024 ballot for insurrection has set up a monumental showdown at the Supreme Court that could decide this nation's future forever.
However, Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas must not be part of that decision. Thomas' cozy relationships with his billionaire benefactors and the outrageous (not to mention extremely well-documented) amount of money, trips, and gifts he's accepted from them means he absolutely cannot be trusted to rule impartially and he MUST recuse himself from the case.

"We do not reach these conclusions lightly," the Colorado majority opinion reads. "We are mindful of the magnitude and weight of the questions now before us. We are likewise mindful of our solemn duty to apply the law, without fear or favor, and without being swayed by public reaction to the decisions that the law mandates we reach."
There is zero confidence that Clarence Thomas — or any of the conservative justices, really — will be mindful of their solemn duty to the Constitution. Clarence Thomas must recuse himself and let the rest of the Supreme Court uphold the obligations of the 14th Amendment.
