A local animal protection group is nursing six tiny puppies back to health after they were discarded like trash on a beach in Taean-gun in the South Chungcheong Province of South Korea.

The local reports describing that the puppies were thrown away like garbage were being quite literal -- the babies were found in a trash bag along with other debris like beer cans and alcohol bottles.

The bag was tied up so tightly that some of the puppies were suffering from decreased oxygen levels in their bloodstreams, which could indicate serious issues with their hearts and lungs.

The pictures of the puppies, now safely in the care of Taean Animal Protection Society, show that they are impossibly small, their eyes hardly yet open. They are absolutely adorable, covered in different markings of brown and white making none of them identical but clearly all siblings. It is unthinkable that someone could look at these defenseless puppies and leave them in a trash bag to die.

Plus, think of how the perpetrator got these puppies -- maybe they are still in possession of the litter's parents! What is stopping them from doing this to the next litter of puppies, or to full grown dogs they may have access to?

South Korean animal welfare advocates are therefore calling for an investigation to find who is responsible, and we elevate their demands today. Discarding an animal is strictly illegal, and this case could warrant animal abuse charges. That is why local authorities must do everything in their power to find the person who did this and bring them to justice -- in honor of these puppies, their suffering, and to prevent any further suffering to future animals!
