Wisconsin is trying to pass a bill that
would make it legal to kill Wisconsin's
Official Bird of Peace, the morning dove. When the people were to vote on
this bill, the vote was taken by counting the hands of people at the
meeting. There were hundreds of people
at this meeting. Also, there were
people that brought their children and
they had their children raise their
hands and the childrens hands were also
counted. Having a hunting season for
Wisconsin's Official Bird of Peace sends
out a negative message to children and
adults alike.
Please sign the petition
to tell the DNR it is not right to kill
Wisconsin's Official Bird of Peace.
We, the undersigned, respectfully request that you do not legalize the hunting of Wisconsin's Official Bird of Peace, the morning dove.
The passage of the bill was not representative of the majority of Wisconsin's population and was not take in a manner that would allow the people a real opportunity to stop the bills passage.
