PETITION TO BE DELIVERED NOV. 18 to Metro District Board of Directors, urging them to change their decision to exterminate a prairie dog colony in their Murphy Creek neighborhood in Aurora, Colorado. They are now in the process of contacting vendors for proposals to annihilate the entire healthy colony.
At one time the area used to belong to the prairie dogs where they jump-yipped, stretched, played and loved each other as well as maintaining the prairie flora and fauna. Man has encroached upon their territory and has not stopped killing this keystone species ever since. If the pace of persecution continues, prairie dogs in Colorado will soon be gone along with many other species that depend on these prairie dogs for their very survival.
WildLands Defense thinks they maybe able to find viable lands to relocate these prairie dogs but the Metro Board of Directors have refused because they would have to wait until summer of 2016.
It is the prairie dogs home man has invaded with a golf course and community. Now man wants to kill these intelligent keystone species
Please ask the Metro Board of Director to show compassion and give WildLands Defense until June of next year to find viable land to relocate these prairie dogs to or to come up with a plan so the prairie dogs can remain on their prairie habitat with mitigation efforts in place to keep them out of the golf course and neighborhood they claim they are disrupting. Thank you!
Dear Sir/Madam,
Please be do not kill these prairie dogs. Allow WildLands Defense until June next year to seek a relocation site and help put mitigation efforts in place to keep them out of the golf course and neighborhood. Thank you!
