Marine Parks South Australia

90% of the marine life in South Australia's waters are found nowhere else in the world. Creatures such as Leafy Sea Dragons, Giant Cuttlefish and Great Whites are endangered and under the threat of extinction. Less than 1 % of our marine environment is protected.

The proposed marine parks and sanctuaries will prevent any fishing and boats from further destroy the marine habitats. Pressure from commercial and recreational fishermen is causing the government to rethink their decision. The proposed parks/sanctuaries will only take up 10% of the states waters, leaving 90% for recreational and commercial fishing (c ommercial and recreational at which would only use less than 30% our states waters) .
