Ohio's largest coal company, Ohio Valley Coal Co., has filed a request to allow it to coal mine below Barkcamp State Park.
State parks should remain protected areas that are free from intrusions. We call on Ohio officials to deny this request to prevent this beautiful public land for being altered. Just because an area can be mined for coal doesn't mean it should be. Ohio residents want a place to enjoy nature, not more pollution-causing coal.
