DO NOT EUTHANIZE THE 31 DOGS SEIZED FROM ALLEGED FIGHTING-RING IN CHATHAM, ONTARIO

My name is Kirstyn Smith and I have been following a very heart-breaking story since October 2015. The town of Chatham-Kent, ON fell victim to a horrible and cruel act where 31 pitbull-type dogs were seized from an alleged dog fighting-ring. Now, the OSPCA is requesting that 21 of these 31 dogs be euthanized, with no rhyme or reason. These animals need our help.
WE NEED TO PROTECT THE WELL-BEING OF THESE ANIMALS AND DEMAND THAT THEY BE KEPT SAFE AND DO NOT UNDERGO EUTHANASIA JUST BECAUSE THEY ARE "PITBULLS".
Please sign and share this petition to demand that these dogs are treated humanely, medically taken care of and rehabilitated in order to live out their lives away from torture and neglect.

HOW YOU CAN HELP:
In order to house the dogs, Dog Tales Sanctuary must receive designation from the provincial or municipal government. You can help by emailing your local MPP or Minister Yasir Naqvi (Ministry of Community Safety & Correctional Services) at ynaqvi.mpp.co@liberal.ola.org. Minister Naqvi has the authority to make Dog Tales a "designated facility" where the dogs can be housed under 6(d) and 9(5) of the Dog Owner's Liability Act. Let's keep working together for the well-being of these dogs. We are almost there!!

We, the undersigned concerned citizens, draw the attention of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario to the following:
- 31 Pitbull-type dogs were seized from an alleged dog-fighting ring in Chatham-Kent, ON in October; the Pitbull breed has been banned in the Province of Ontario and could face possible euthanasia;
- The dogs are being held under the responsibility and care of the OSPCA and will stay there until the courts make their final decision;
- We request your assistance to protect the dogs involved with this case and demand that the courts support the decision to rehabilitate/rehome these dogs.
Please take into consideration the precious lives of these dogs, whom were put through extreme pain and torture that no animal or human being should have to endure. All animals are sentient beings - beings with consciousness, sentience, or in some contexts life itself.
We demand these dogs be protected from euthanasia and be put into rehabilitation and/or be placed in appropriate no-kill animal shelters for future adoption.
