Trump Openly Admitted That Republican Efforts to Impeach Biden Are Intended as Political Retaliation

Right now, Republican members of the U.S. Congress are launching an impeachment inquiry against President Joe Biden. The catch - even Donald knows it's not real, and lawmakers themselves are admitting they don't have any evidence.

When journalists have asked Congressional Republicans what evidence they have against President Biden, they have repeatedly admitted on camera that there is no genuine evidence of wrongdoing. On top of that, they've had difficulty identifying any specific crimes that they're supposedly accusing Biden of and investigating.

Even the right-wing show Fox & Friends confirmed there's nothing legitimate to this probe. Co-host Steve Doocy laid the situation out clearly, stating that Republicans "have not connected the dots... they have not shown where Joe Biden, you know, did anything illegally."

Donald Trump openly said in an interview that the impeachment inquiry is the result of retaliation against Democrats. As he put it: "They [Democrats] did it to me. And had they not done it to me, I think, and nobody officially said this, but I think had they not done it to me ... perhaps you wouldn't have it being done to them." One Representative, Republican Troy Nehls of Texas, confirmed this by saying the impeachment inquiry was intended to give Trump "a little bit of ammo to fire back."

Just to make sure the message was clear, Trump then went on social media to insist: "IMPEACH the BUM, or fade into OBLIVION. THEY DID IT TO US!"

Right now, the U.S. and the world have real problems. The world is burning from climate change; countries are on fire from war; humanitarian crises abound. But this is what the U.S. Congress, under Republican leadership, has decided to waste its time - and taxpayers' dollars - on.
