Every year, in Denmark, specifically the Faroe Islands, innocent and helpless Calderon Dolphins are slaughtered brutally by the danes. Why you ask?? Because as a "right of passage" older teens are encouraged to brutally slaughter them to show they have reached adulthood !
What points are there in killing another living being, just to prove you have "evolved", killing another being DOES NOT prove you have reached adulthood at all, and is a sick and disturbing encouragement to these young people.
This poor dolphins are stabbed a number of times, maninly with hooks to tear open their flesh, but as if that weren't enough, they bleed to death in pools of their own and their mates' blood, in excruciating pain while the whole town watches and cheers!
Needles to say, that killing a deffensless animal is no proof of anybody's manhood.
This petition has taken place before,and thousands have previously signed it, but they didn't quite get enough signatures, and so this disgusting ritiual still takes places. So, I urge you to sign this petition, and share it with everyone you know and ask them to sign it.
Killing another being is not a sign of maturity but simply a sign of mass cruelty and if it doesn't end soon, this particular species of dolphin will become extinct.
