A cell tower for carrier Verizon was just built the week of February 17th 2025 at the edge of one of the most frequently traveled roads in Benner Township, Buffalo Run Road/550 Bellefonte, Pennsylvania. Benner Township is home to thousands of acres of wetlands, private and public conservation land. This includes the iconic Fisherman's Paradise, class A trout streams, State Game Lands 176, and several picturesque farms. It is enjoyed by birders, painters, photographers, runners, walkers, bike riders and drivers alike. Due to the low growing vegetation and farm fields, the tower is causing visual blight for miles, particularly at night when two Medium Intensity Obstruction Lights blink over the valley. Demand that Diamond Communications invest in more appropriate ways to protect these beautiful Benner views at the base of Purdue Mountain!
The output of this petition will be used to request change through the appropriate avenues, based on feedback received, and generally includes:
(1) pine (or other agreeable natural) dressing/disguising
(2) minimization/updates (within regulatory guidelines) to blinking white/red lights
