It's not even a week into the new year and the internet is already abrim with stories of animal cruelty. Many of which have to do with Christmas and New Year's Eve celebrations.
Like the story of several children from the city of San Lorenzo, Paraguay who weren't satisfied with just lighting firecrackers in the streets so they
decided to use the pyrotechnics on a poor unsuspecting dog instead. You probably already know where this is going. According to reports, a group of children was playing with fireworks when they noticed a medium-sized yellow-haired dog. The children lured the dog over to it and offered it a lit firework.
The dog took it in its mouth and just a few seconds later it exploded leaving the dog's mouth a bloody mess. The dog was taken to the vet but she has several severe fractures in its mouth that will take a long time to recover. While the people who did this terrible crime are kids, and thus should not be punished like adults, it is important that they receive the help they need to them avoid any future incidents of violence against animals or people. It is a well-known fact that people who abuse animals often escalate their violence to humans, so
it is crucial that officials work with these children to help them understand what they did was wrong and get them the counseling they need.Please sign the petition and encourage authorities in San Lorenzo, Paraguay to require counseling to the children responsible for abusing this poor dog and to make sure that they never do it again.
