Defend Whales from PG&E Seismic Testing

Imagine hearing a pulse of sound 100,000 times more intense than a jet engine every 15 seconds. This is what PG&E has in store for our vulnerable marine wildlife if the utility is allowed to begin seismic testing off the California coast.

On November 14 in Santa Monica, the California Coastal Commission (CCC) will make its final decision on whether to allow PG&E to begin this dangerous program of blasting nearly continuous high-decibel sound waves across the ocean floor, wreaking havoc on vulnerable wildlife and fisheries.

We know that seismic testing can cause stress and disorientation, ruptured sensory organs, and even death in whales, dolphins, seals, otters, and fish. Coastal communities also have a good reason to fear for their economies as fishermen will be barred from working in waters that are being tested and lucrative fish species could be threatened.

I will personally deliver all signatures added to this petiton  by 7am Pacific Time,  November 14, 2012  to the hearing:
