Racing Dogs To Death - Stop It Now!
- ontvanger: Iditarod race officials
The Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race is an annual long-distance sled dog race run in early March from Anchorage to Nome, entirely within the US state of Alaska. This majestic 1000-mile race has existed for the last 45 years and is very popular in Alaska. But in recent years with race promoters, corporate sponsors and tourism, this race has turned commercial and now it's becoming cruel.
During the Iditarod dog race, teams force dogs to race through extreme dangerous weather such as blizzards, sub-zero temperatures and severe winds which cause the chill to reach up to -100 °F. In almost all of the dog races held up util now, many dogs have died due to these extreme conditions.
Not only that, there have also been many cases where dogs have been subjected to severe abuse and neglect, and some have even succumbed to physical exertion. The dogs which failed to win or perform well are euthanized as well.
This is cruel and horrible. The Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race of 2019 is going to be held soon in March. Join me to fight against this abuse and tell Alaska to stop such cruel races and take measures to protect these beautiful dogs!!
