There are rescue shelters for birds, bears, cougars, everything but deer. They are often injured and left to suffer, as the attitude of the local population is that there are too many of them. Curious, considering the rising human population both locally and world wide. Local develpment and an influx of retirees etc from all parts of Canada and beyond are changing a rural environment, in to one that is less than tolerant of the natural inhabitants of the area which they have populated. Develpment is pushing away the nature they came to enjoy. I call them ECO NIMBY'S. It's great to see wildlife, just not when they are in my area, and inconveniencing me.
