Signing this petition means that you disagree with the way animals are treated on factory farms and want Mr. Tom Vilsack to put a stop to it. Conditions on factory farms are cruel and inhumane. Animals are packed tight into tiny cage's sitting in their own fecal matter, making them sick, which then ends up in our food supply. Also, most animals are given growth hormones and other drugs to boost their production but we must consider what these drugs can do to us, as humans, when we consume that in our meat supply. Often times, hens will be starved for days at a time so that they produce more eggs. Is this really how we want to get our food? At the cost of the suffering of our fellow creatures. By signing this petition:
- You think the treatment of the animals on factory farms is cruel and inhumane.
- You are concerned with the health risks to the public since these animals are put into our meat supply.
- You want animals on farms to have a healthier and happier life.
We the undersigned are pleading with you to please take more action to stop the cruelty to animals on factory farms. Factory farms care more about quantity than about quality of the care of their animals, which has a serious impact on, not only animal advocates, but the entire public community that has these animals in their meat supply. This petition asks you to simply make stricter rules regarding farm animals and be more harsh when punishing anyone breaking anti-cruelty laws.
Your time in this matter is very much appreciated, as we know you are a very busy man. We look forward to some action or response to this issue and believe that you will address our concerns. Thank you.
Sincerely,
