Demand answers why 4 of 9 wolves were killed rather than tranquilized in a France Zoo

As an American wolf enthusiast and wolf advocate, I am seeking answers to a few questions WHY zoo workers at the Trois Vallées zoo in Montredon-Labessonnié chose to shoot to kill 4 of the 9 wolves that got loose on zoo grounds while virtually EMPTY!
The authorities there (including the zoo owner Sauveur Ferrara) all stated the public was NOT in any imminent danger, nor did the wolves escape the zoo grounds! 5 wolves were tranquilized but the remaining 4 were shot and killed! Why were they not tranquilized and recaptured? They were acting on instinct as almost ANY other wild animal would have acted in the same situation under the same circumstances! There was no reason to destroy those 4 wolves! Furthermore, in October 2020, the zoo was ordered to close because of security measures but the closure order was later lifted by a court. THIS COULD HAVE BEEN PREVENTED!

    1. What exactly did you expect to happen once you discovered the wolves had escaped their enclosure?
    2. Were the 5 you tranquilized the first 5 you came across?
    3. Were the 4 shot found together?

This was a senseless and needless killing! Those 4 wolves could have been darted like the other 5, recaptured, isolated and observed in order to determine their fate! They could also have been released back in to the wild!
