Demand Justice for Inka
Chief Ron Hunton, from the Canton, Georgia Police Department says Lieutenant Daniel Peabody arrived home about 4:15 p.m.
The officer then left the Belgian Malinois K-9 Officer, named Inka, in the back of the car with the engine turned off to deal with another dog inside his home. The officer forgot about the dog until 7 p.m. He went back to the car and found the dog had died.
Temperatures had reached into the 90s on that day. Hunton said it was even hotter inside the car.
Inka was a 4 - year old Belgian Malinois K-9 Officer whose life has ended as a result of his trusted partner's negligence. As a police officer and K-9 handler, it is your responsibility to serve and protect your very own partner- something Lieutenant Peabody failed to do.
Rise against this officer and his wrongdoing and demand justice for Inka!!!! If it were not for Inka's partner's absolute negligence, Inka would still be alive today.
Just like civilians, this lieutenant should be held accountable for his actions.
O.C.G.A. § 16-11-107 (2015)
Georgia Code of Law states that harming or killing a police k-9 officer is a crime, punishable by up to 5 years imprisonment. Georgia law also requires that the offender pay restitution towards the police department. Lieutenant Peabody should not be an exception to this law and should be held fully accountable for his actions, which resulted in the death of his partner Inka.
