LOOSING RACEHORSES CONDEMMED TO DIE IN PUERTO RICO
In a recent article published by the Associated Press, it is reported that in Puerto Rico, "unwanted" racehorses are routinely euthanised at the track when they are no longer useful. These horses are mostly all young and healthy and their only "crime" is that they dont live up to the owners standands, and euthanising them is cheaper than having to feed and board them. I guess there are no slaughterhouses in Puerto Rico or else I am sure they would be sending them there. Well at least they are getting euthanisized but what a sensless, un-necessary & terrible waste. These thoroughbreds were imported at one time or another from the United States. I say lets work towards bringing some of these guys (and gals) home.
