Unbelievable but True!
In southern Belgium, many dogs pass their lives outides attached to chains, lots of unsterilized cats roam the streets, and these animals are too often treated badly!
No warm house, no family, no love.
And to make things worse, people don't care!
So we, three women, have decided to set up a foundation, Le Bon Coeur de Wallonie.( the goodheart of wallonia)
And now, don't think : "gosshh, another one! "... No! Our foundation is different, better and more needed if we look at the situation here at the moment.
Our goal is to make the Belgians aware of animal welfare and the animal rights.
How?
- We want and need a building : to make a home, to shelter dogs and cats ( mistreated, ill, old, abandoned or handicapped) without bars, so they feel at home! A volunteer will live there with them. And other volunteers will help take care of them.
- We're already visiting schools with our animals, to teach the "next generation" how to treat an animal and how to approach an unknown animal. The children must pass an exam to receive an "animal diploma".
- We have to create an animal rescue ambulance with an emergency number, to save animals in need.
- We have to make a sterilization program for the street cats, in co-operation with the mayors and veterinarians.
- And of course, an inspection that checks at the people places if an animal is treated well.
