It's high time we tell the members of Congress they can't set up shop in Washington D.C and make a career out of Public Office, It is our belief that members of The House of Representatives and the Senate be limited to no more then two terms in office as it is detrimental to the ongoing success and longevity of the United States of America.
If you look at the gridlock our lawmakers currently face on a day to day basis it is seen time and again that stubborn stale thoughts and actions lead our country to continue making many of the same mistakes over and over again. Keeping the same lawmakers in office some times for thirty or more years does not yield to change.
As Albert Einstein once said: "Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results" How can we the American people expect change if we keep electing the same officials over and over again? Honestly we can't it is insanity.
With this petition I ask Barack Obama the President of the worlds greatest nation to help put in place a law restricting the time any one member of Congress or The House of Representatives can hold office just as the President him self can only hold office for a maximum of two terms.
Dear Mr Presidtent,
We the People of the United States of America ask that you help us secure a two term limit for all members of Congress in order to better secure a long and bright future for our great country the United States of America.
As I am sure you are well aware, our government is currently plauged with a gridlock in which neither the right or the left are willing to work toghether. It is our feeling that part of this problem is caused by the fact that many of our lawmakers have held office for in some cases thirty plus years and thus they are still operating on tired ideas many of which have failed them in the past or are so set in their ways they refuse to cross the aisle to get things done.
This wouldn't work in business and it surely doesn't seem to be working for our country. Between Government shutdowns, Budget problems, our country's dropping credit rating, etc, when is enough enough?
It's time some of the senior citizens who have teken up residence at the Capitol Building move on to other things, our Founding Fathers never intended for public office to be a life long career and it shouldn't be viewed as such.
