The Blue Gnomes & The Little Roundabout Island…
Once upon a time not so long ago the good people of China Blue were asked by the Britain in Bloom to look after a Little Roundabout Island surrounded by thousands of noisy cars, trucks and buses.
This Little Roundabout Island of plants and stone was in Totnes, neglected and unwanted no one ever wanted to go there. It was next to a busy petrol station and near the local Industrial estate it was unloved and unhappy.
So the good people of China Blue agreed to look after the unwanted Little Roundabout Island…. so he asked the blue woodland folk from the surrounding hills to look after the plants and to keep the Island tidy. He wanted to put a smile on the childrens faces as they went by….
All things were good on the Little Roundabout Island until one day when dreadful things started to happen to the Little Blue Gnomes. Naughty people started to attack the blue folk with sticks and hammers; they were pushed to the ground and even kidnapped. The little children who had smiled and laughed now cried to see such dreadful things happening to their little friends.
