An animal shelter, a place where a stray or homeless animal is supposed to have a refuge is no longer an option for a cat at the City of Atlantic, Iowa Animal Shelter. This shelter is no longer accepting stray cats. This is now causing unnecessary harms and deaths for cats including being poisoned! The City of Atlantic, Iowa needs to realize the foundation in which they preserve and understand the benefits to the community for which they are currently lacking by no longer allowing this salvation. By allowing homeless cats back into the shelter, they would be helping to control the stray cat population as well as controlling diseases such as feline leukemia and even the unnecessary deaths just from being forced to live outside. Atlantic, Iowa needs to change their ways and allow cats once again inside their animal shelter doors like a city animal shelter is supposed to!

This is prime time to make additional contact to finally come to a successful resolution for the homeless cats that need assistance. Below is the official email for mayor, Grace Garrett. The shelter is supposed to be completed next month and we need to ensure that both homeless and owner surrendered cats have a place to be. Please be respectful in your contact.
