Demand to Keep Darla Ward's Murderer in Prison (Lavonia Spann, inmate no. A-290503)

Grace and Levi Drye were only 2 and 5 years old when their mother, Darla Ward, was brutally murdered by Lavonia Spann.

On Thanksgiving Day of 1993, Darla Ward, was brutally stabbed by Spann 31 times, with her two children in the home. She was only 31 years young, leaving behind a 2 and 5 year old.

This July 16th, our family meets with the full Ohio parole board in hopes of keeping the man who murdered Darla in prison. The parole board has made the initial recommendation for release, so this meeting is our family's final chance to convince them that a man, with a history of violence against women prior to this murder, should not be released and given the opportunity to potentially harm or kill again.
