We are in deep mourning for the loss of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who has died at the age of 87. Ginsburg was a feminist icon, a brilliant mind who fought fiercely for progressive values. She was the second of only four women ever confirmed to the Supreme Court. We owe so much to her efforts.
And her final request, made to her granddaughter shortly before her death, was extremely clear: "My most fervent wish is that I will not be replaced until a new president is installed."
Add your name to demand Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell holds on filling Ginsburg's seat until after January's inauguration.
In 2016, Mitch McConnell delayed the vote on President Obama's nominee for over a year until Obama eventually left office. His "reason" – because a SCOTUS nomination shouldn't happen during an election year. Trump's first nomination was the seat Obama was meant to fill.
We have a near-identical situation but McConnell has predictably made an unabashed about-face and plans to squeeze in Trump's third nomination in the next month and a half. We cannot allow his despicable hypocrisy to become reality.
We've got your back, RBG, because you had ours first.
Sign here to demand Mitch McConnell follow his own "rules" and delay confirming a SCOTUS nomination until after January 2021.
