Earth: Final Conflict was a show created by Majel Barret-Roddenberry that was inspired from an idea Gene Roddenberry had after the original Star Trek was cancelled. It aired from 1997 to 2002. The show was similar to V in that it depicts an alien race that came to Earth under a banner of peace and a resistance movement that believed that the aliens had an alternate agenda. Unlike V, however, the aliens and the human groups depicted in the show have a myrriad of agendas. There is a rumor that V was a ripoff of Earth: Final Conflict when Gene declined an offer in the 1970s to make it into a TV show in lieu of Star Trek: The Motion Picture.
Unfortunately, the show suffered from executive meddling (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/ExecutiveMeddling), and got progressively worse as the seasons went on. This is a petition to Ronald D. Moore, who did an excellent job of rebooting Battlestar Galactica. Please sign if you would like Ronald D. Moore to reboot Earth: Final Conflict into a grittier, more scientifically plausible and fresh TV series.
