Shut Down Plenika Farm in South Africa

Plenika Farm, a captive lion farm in South Africa run by Jan Steinman, has a history of severe mistreatment of lions - over a hundred lions are crammed into cages, covered in mange, emaciated and sick. South Africa’s National Council of Societies for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals has documented the abuse but nothing is being done by the government or by Mr. Steinman to improve treatment of the animals. Captive lion farms are inherently cruel and poorly regulated and lions are suffering! National Geographic and Smithsonian Magazines have written articles about the abuse; more and more people are calling for the "farm" to close but nothing is changing. By signing this petition, we are asking Mr. Steinman to close his farm and relocate his animals to a reputable organization, one that will provide an appropriate environment and veterinary care.
