HELP END DOLPHIN CAPTIVITY IN THE EUROPEAN UNION!!

Dear Environment commissioner/chair and Vice chairs of the Environment Committee,

I am very concerned to learn that up to 300 dolphins, whales, and small porpoises are kept in captivity in the European Union, held primarily for the entertainment of vistiors attending dolphin shows. This is in spite of EU CITIES Legislation banning commerical trade in wild caught dolphins and the requirnment of under the EU Zoos directive that whales and dolphins are held according to their biological needs, something that is impossible for these higly intelligent, complex,and migratory mammals.

Please act now to protect the health and welfare of these animals by ensuring the correct implementation of EC Directive 1999/22 on the keeping of wild animals in zoos and supporting a phase out of Dolphinaria in the EU. Please help, protect wild dolphins by bringing an end to the import of wild caught dolphins in the EU.
