Strays May Be Strays, But Their Killers Should Pay!

Should stray cats and dogs be treated any differently than the dogs and cats in our home? My answer, of course, is no. There should be signs posted on the streets that STRAY ANIMALS may be crossing. For all the drivers know the cat or dog could have an owner who lost it, maybe they got out of the house on accident. On Sunday, Nov. 11, 2007-I had seen something that disgusted me. Walking up the block, there it was..a truck, parked on top of a cats stomach. Not just an ordinary cat, it was grown-looked as though someone had fed it before. Could've been a house cat. Orange with tabby stripes. The truck was parked there for a large portion of the day. Later on that day I had seen the truck was gone...They didn't even bother to clean up the mess they left behind. The only part of the cat that was crushed was it's stomach, by the front tire, causing automatic death. If I did not have such a weak stomach I would've buried the cat myself. But, I had a friend of mine bury it in my backyard. If someone owns a cat and abuses it, or a dog, they get jail time or a fine. What makes this reckless driver any different? At this very moment it is time for me to make a stand for these animals. The ones left on the side of the road. Someone, somewhere could be looking for them. If they would've lived, they could've been saved from the harsh streets of our cities and could've been put in a home with a family to love them. Please get anyone and everyone you know to sign this. These people should be FINED and FORCED TO CLEAN UP THE BODY THEY INTENDED ON LEAVING THERE AND BURY IT. This is dedicated to my kitten, Shivers, who was murdered.
We the undersigned have decided to take a stand for stray cats and dogs who have been recklessly driven on top of, then left to rot in the city streets. Harsh and cruel is what is done to these animals. People who leave the dead animal on the side of the road deserve a fine. They should have to pay $5,000 and have to clean up the mess they made with their own bare hands. They should have to bury to helpless creature. If the person would have killed the animal in their own home, they would be put in prison or fined. What makes outside of the home any different? I must thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to read this and remind you my intent is to get something done for these poor animals. There should be signs put on each block to remind people to caution animals may be crossing. I know, some people let their cats out of the house at night, and what if the next morning they find it crushed in the street? Devistation, depression. Lets help the animals and their owners, even if these animals don't have owners; I've seen many people find strays and keep them for their own pets. Why stop the life of an innocent animal? It is wrong what is happening and I am disgusted by people who don't atleast call somewhere like an animal shelter to pick up the remains. Please consider my requests which are: People who hurt the animals be fined for $5,000; They have to then clean the animals remains up; and lastly Signs should be posted to caution drivers of strays that live out there. Strays have it hard enough, why make it any harder for them? Thank you for reading this.
