Don't Cancel "All My Children" and "One Life to Live"
All My Children has Been On-Air at ABC Since January 5, 1970 and One Life to Live Since July 15, 1968. Now ABC has announced that they will be cancelling these long time staples of daytime drama in September 2011 and January 2012 respectively. In their place they will be putting on shows similar to "The View" and a show that will focus on food, weight, and health.
Many of our grandmothers, mothers, and us have watched these shows for years. We don't want another talk show or weight loss show. We want OUR shows!
We, the longtime viewers of ABC soaps do NOT want another talk show or food/weight loss show! We want OUR shows! Please do NOT cancel "All My Children" or "One Life to Live". If we want to watch a talk show, we'll watch "The View" or "The Talk". If we want to watch a weight loss show, we'll watch "The Biggest Loser" or "Heavy". If you insist on cancelling these shows, we will boycott "The View" and any other shows like it on your network. Fans of daytime drama want to
SEE daytime drama. We feel you are not taking this into consideration by you decision. If you do this, you will lose
MANY viewers to other networks that still carry the types of shows we want in daytime drama.
