A thriving clean energy industry in Queensland will create a better life for everyone: unlocking regional jobs, slashing power prices and reducing pollution from ageing coal-fired power stations.
But Australia's toxic national energy debate is stalling future investment and putting new renewable energy projects at risk. Powerful players with vested interests are polluting our politics – derailing the transition and putting our clean energy future at stake. And there's nowhere more at risk than Queensland.
Without a national energy policy, we need the Queensland Government to step up to save our large-scale clean energy industry. The Queensland Government needs to act fast by:
- Committing to build more publicly-owned renewable projects before the state election.
- Ensuring the industry continues to build enough new clean generation each year to reach 100% renewable energy by 2030.
