LETS KEEP TRAFFIC MOVING. LET'S MAKE LEFT TURNS ON A RED LIGHT LEGAL

I'm an Uber Driver so I'm constantly on the road. For me, time is money and that's true for many millions of drivers who are on the roads of California every day. We all know the streets and highways are jammed packed with traffic. The whole idea is to keep traffic moving. So why do we have to sit in our cars in an unecessary left turn traffic light when there isn't any opposite traffic and it's clear to turn? This is a total waste of time. The longer the light is red, the longer the line gets in the lane to turn left. And it's all because there's a red light in front of us, telling us to stop and do not turn. The traffic light going the same direction next to me is green, while the turning lane to make a left turn is red and no traffic is coming the opposite way. It's safe to turn but we can't because the traffic light is red. This is very unecessary and holds up traffic. Let's change this.
