Australia must stamp out animal cruelty across the board.
Thousands of dogs......pets, working & hunting dogs travel on the back bed or tray of their owner’s vehicle.
Very few of these dogs, whilst tied for safety reasons, are afforded any protection from the elements.
Especially in the extreme weather conditions that we experience, it is common to see these dogs tied in full sun or pouring rain & strong bitter winds. Dogs travel for long distances with no relief and can be seen left on the back of the vehicles while their owners are inside shops, Hotels and dining establishments.
Compulsory laws need to be put in place to enforce owners to provide mats underfoot, canopies or other appropriate shelter for these dogs.
No dog should be confined on any vehicle without this protection.
We believe that this is a form of animal cruelty and therefore needs action now.
