Leaked documents on Patriot Front, a white supremacist group, revealed that 1 in 5 of their applicants were currently or previously involved with the US military. One applicant even alleged he currently worked for the Department of Homeland Security. The report, reviewed by the Southern Poverty Law Center and alternative media collective Unicorn Riot, divulged the anti-Semitic, homophobic, and racist sentiments of multiple service members who at the same time boasted their armed-forces skillset.
Allowing white supremacists to receive military and police training isn't just dangerous, it's state-sanctioned violence.

Some of the skills applicants to Patriot Front touted included firearm training, marine corps martial arts training, medical training, and navigation skills – these are obviously not resources violent hate groups should have access to. The Pentagon found that domestic extremist groups pose a huge threat to the military by increasingly attempting to recruit service members for their combat skills – and some extremists have even joined to gain experience.
The Pentagon's report remarked that "Military members are highly prized by these groups as they bring legitimacy to their causes and enhance their ability to carry out attacks." We must not continue to legitimize their violent intolerance through inaction.
