Indiana communities continue to lose good teachers simply because we do not pay them what they deserve. Teachers are one of the most valuable resources in our community and the fact that we trust them to educate and work with our children proves just how valuable they are. Yet, because we refuse to pay them a competitive wage, many communities are losing young teachers who WANT to teach, but they just can't afford it! The State of Indiana had a $6 BILLION SURPLUS this past year. Look it up - it's true. $6 BILLION with a "B". There is NO REASON that we cannot start paying our public school teachers more money across the State of Indiana. Please join me in signing this petition and let's send a message to our State Government that we want more monies directed to public education in the form of increasing our teachers salaries. These teachers - as well as our children and grandchildren are well worth the investment!
