Save Sama The Abused Temple Elephant In Sri Lanka!

Sama is an elephant in her 30's living at the Alan Mathiniyaramaya temple in Sri Lanka. Recently video surfaced of Sama being stabbed and terrorized by her mahout or handler. Seven years ago a photo surfaced of Sama with a huge boil on her leg. You can see it in the picture above. The head monk of the Alan Mathiniyaramaya temple, Uduwe Dhammaloka Thero, was also arrested in 2015 for harboring a baby elephant that was illegally taken from the wild. He is aware of the abuse and has done nothing. We are asking that Sama be removed from the temple and her ongoing abuse.
