As a devoted fan of the original run of Futurama, I, along with many others find the Hulu Futurama reboot deeply disappointing. The original series was praised for its innovative humor and beloved characters. However, the reboot has failed to capture the essence of the original and continues to deliver episodes that do not meet fans' expectations.
Hulu recently renewed this reboot for another two seasons, adding 20 more episodes to an already mediocre rendition. This was particularly frustrating since the original series had established such a high bar. Even the Comedy Central continuation was accepted as a reasonable representation of the spirit of Futurama.
The Hulu reboot is simply too direct and fails to capture the quirks and intricacies that made the original such a timeless piece. The last season barely scraped by as acceptable, and hearing the news of two more seasons did nothing but create a sense of dread for the further degradation of a beloved show.
In an attempt to save Futurama from completely losing its unique legacy, this petition urges Hulu to halt production on seasons 13 and 14 of Futurama and reverse it's renewal. We believe that this will not simply prevent the release of more disappointing episodes, but will instead preserve Futurama's legacy as the quality, groundbreaking series it originally was.
