Every year around 45 BILLION animals are tortured, both mentally & physically in these terrible factories. This is a huge ethical and environmental problem.These animals are stuck in these disgusting factories from the time they are born in a dark metal cage, till the day they are slaughtered. They never get to step out outside, they never get to breathe fresh air, or feel the warmth of sunlight, instead they're stuffed into tight metal cages, where they can barely sit comfortably, and they're basically only fed drugs and anti-biotics and they're isolated from other animals, which effects them physiologically.
This is also one of the top 3 causes of global warming, the amount of nitrous and methane gases created from the meat industry, speeds up global warming around 293x faster than all the gases released from all the vehicles in the world. This is also responsible for 91% of ALL rainforest deforestation. So far 136 million acres of rainforest, has been cleared and scientists calculated that every second 1 acre of land is cleared for the meat industry. On top of that the meat industry, uses 1/3 of the worlds fresh water.
By signing this petition you'll help me convince the government to enforce these laws which will protect and ensure better treatment of factory farm animals:
* There MUST be big windows in the farm, to let in sunlight and fresh air
* The animals MUST be fed with at least 2 real meals everyday.
* They MUST have enough space to rest and walk around comfortably.
* NO LIVESTOCK will be isolated from other animals, and there WILL be no cages separating animals of the same species.
* There needs to be a reasonable limit as to how many animals the meat industry can raise, because at the current factory farming rate we're going at our planet CAN NOT sustain itself.
* NO PAIN/ PHYSICAL ABUSE will be inflicted upon animals, and they're slaughter must be quick and painless.
