My name is Jeff Galfer and after an appeal gone wrong in September of 2011, I started an investigation into the LAPVB. In March of 2012, I officially filed suit against Xerox and the City of Los Angeles. Today (February 2014), we are very close to reaching class certification.
If you are signing this petition, you know why.
The unfair business practices of the Los Angeles Parking Violations Bureau (aka XEROX) has long gone unchecked.
Our current list of grievances:
No actual ability to contest tickets
Unfair and unwarranted late fees
No accountability for lack of communication between the Bureau and those they are fining
Unfair ticketing practices
No payment plans for those who are financially incapable of paying on time
Unfair fees
Unfair charges assessed for online payment of tickets

Folks, I'm sorry to say that I have failed you all. A judge denied our class certification for the second and final time. My full statement is here:

It's clear that we live in a time where those with the most money win. The City of LA has put your interests and needs behind the interests and needs of corporate greed. Thanks for your kind words, support, and attention to this matter.
Best,
Jeff

Folks, as we enter December and our month of depositions in court, I urge you to share the following video. This CBS investigative report done by Melanie Woodrow has been incredibly informative regarding the Los Angeles Parking Violations Bureau. Please watch it, share it, and spread the word!

Folks,
Here is your first update!
Spring - Class action was filed.
Summer - Motions to dismiss by the LAPVB & Xerox DENIED.
Fall - Depositions taken by the plaintiffs.
Nothing would suit us better than to have our full 50,000 signatures of support. So, please, send the petition to everyone you know. Let's finally put the LAPVB (Xerox) out of business.
