Animals have no voice and we have to stand up for them. The numbers that are Killed in these facilities are STAGGERING and it has to STOP!
Please sign and show your support in Memory of “Talon”. His story: Talon’s owners tried to have him PTS by a vet but had no money to pay for the deed so they DUMPED him at Walton County Animal Shelter. This poor innocent 13 yr old Senior Boxer, who had been “criminally” neglected, was in horrific condition. He had tumors all over his sweet body along with other multiple serious medical issues. Someone posted him on Face Book for help and the animal activists community embraced this sweet soul. On the original thread there were 600+ comments, many Rescues that offered to save him, Fosters that offered to take him into their homes, Transporters that committed to help get him to a Reputable Hospice Rescue and over $2,500 in Pledges to help with his medical care. When this thread was deleted, the 2nd thread produced over 400+ comments and more compassionate peopled that offered their services and time to save this precious boy. Numerous Calls and Emails were made to the shelter Director LOIS MARLOW in support of Talon, but yesterday WEDNESDAY APRIL 4th , LOIS MARLOW KILLED TALON. This director needs to be REPLACED and the Owners need to be prosecuted and JAILED for animal abuse. Yes, he was suffering, at the hands of seriously ignorant and heartless people, but he would have been given the best medical care and the thing this dog needed most-LOVE. No one wants to see an animal in pain and if it was determined that “nothing” could be done to improve his quality of life he should NEVER have been KILLED in a KILL FACILITY. Talon deserved to die with Dignity and Respect, not on a Cold, Hard table then thrown away in a garbage bag. Ms. MARLOW, you are not GOD. You made the decision to KILL Talon when people were BEGGING and PLEADING for you to release him. They were waiting with Open Arms to help this dog and you took his chance away. You will never convince anyone that has any compassion for animals that this was the right decision. You need to resign and find another job in a field that does not involve animal care. You need to turn over the name of Talon’s owner to the authorities so they can be brought to justice. This should be a Wake Up Call for this community and a Beacon that lights a FIRE in every person to stand up for the weak and voiceless animals in every KILL FACILITY across this nation.
