The beautiful State of Montana is on the verge of passing legislation to open horse slaughter facilities in their state.
ALL the slaughter facilities for the slaughtering of horses have been closed by law in the US because of both humane reasons, environmental reasons, disregard for the law and regulations, and disregard for the many fines levied them.
H.B. 418 is now in your hands, Governor Schweitzer and you have the power to Veto!
Please make history this week and do what is honorable, VETO H.B. 418.
There are only a few days remaining to oppose this and we are asking that you see the truth of the horror for the horses, the huge environmental concerns and the language of the bill prohibiting citizens to fight this once the plant is in the works. 20% of a 4-5 million dollar facility would almost be impossible for the residents of Montana to present. No citizen or group of citizens, should be denied the right to oppose anything, by making the cost to do so, prohibitive.
Also, email, fax and PHONE the Governor's office asking for him to VETO the horse slaughter bill, H.B. 418.
