Donald Trump is a threat to our democracy, plain and simple.The disgraced ex-president has now been indicted three times, adding up to dozens of charges for crimes that he has committed --
crimes which tried to obstruct American freedom and democracy, keep people in the dark, and put the United States' national security at terrible risk.Demand the Department of Justice make the charges against Trump crystal clear -- he encouraged insurrection, and therefore should be disqualified from ever holding office again!According to Section 3 of the the
14th Amendment,
no one who "engaged in or encouraged insurrection or rebellion against the United States" can hold federal or state office. Sound like anyone you know of?
Every single indictment against Trump proves more and more that
he is a danger to the United States and democracy worldwide. He stole highly classified documents, showing them to random unauthorized people and thus threatening our national security. He paid tens of thousands of dollars in hush money to silence Stormy Daniels, who he had an affair with, so he wouldn't have to face the consequences of his actions.
And possibly most egregiously, his third indictment is for attempting to overthrow a legitimate election that he lost -- culminating in the violent events on January 6th.We are in uncharted territory. This is totally unprecedented, and we can't let Trump escape justice simply because charges like these have never been pursued against a former president and a presidential candidate. This requires swift, bold, just action from the federal agencies tasked with protecting us!
