It's every family's worst nightmare. The family of Harley, a sweet and timid 2-year old black Labrador mix, were out of town at a birthday party when they got the news that Harley had been found dead near railroad tracks in their Ohio town.
Even worse, the family was shocked to learn that Harley had been found decapitated. His head and dog collar were found placed next to his body in a gruesome scene.
Now the family is calling for justice in Harley's name! Please sign my petition to make sure that local officials investigate Harley's murder and prosecute this cruel animal abuser to the full extent of the law.
The links between horrific animal abuse — like what happened to poor Harley — and violence against humans are striking. One Psychology Today study found that 70 percent of the most violent prisoners in several federal penitentiaries had repeatedly abused animals during their childhoods.
Harley didn't deserve this terrible fate and his devastated family deserves answers.
