Want Expanded 5G in St. Louis? Tell City Leaders NOW
It was just announced that Verizon 5G has launched in our community. St. Louis city leaders can make decisions to accelerate deployment of 5G, which will determine the availability of ultra-fast 5G wireless service in our community. If we want the full effect of 5G innovation here in St. Louis, we need to continue to show our support for 5G.
What would 5G look like? Lightning-fast mobile connectivity — eventually up to 20 times faster than 4G.
And staggering network capacity — imagine sharing crystal clear video from the middle of a sold-out Busch Stadium.
But 5G isn't just the next "G" in your phone — it's a societal game-changer on par with the advent of electric power a century ago.
And just like a century ago, 5G's greatest breakthroughs have yet to be imagined.
5G connectivity is expected to completely transform public safety. New augmented and virtual reality systems could help police officers, firefighters, and even airport workers keep the public safe during emergency situations.
Mobile technology is reshaping the way we live and do business, and 5G is a fundamental platform for its continued innovation. 5G is expected to help support the Internet of Things (IoT), an innovative tool that empowers devices to rapidly transmit and share data with other mobile devices.
But to make 5G a reality, and make St. Louis a national "Smart City" leader, our elected leaders need to know there's widespread public support. Wireless providers have proposed plans to build the 5G network St. Louis needs to grow, but to keep up the momentum, it's important your leaders see letters of support from community members like you.
Tell St. Louis officials to fast-track the 5G rollout now and open up new ways for our community to live, learn, work, and play.
Dear [TARGET],
As a local community member, I'm writing to urge you to fast track the 5G network for St. Louis. The benefits to people who live and work in St. Louis, to local businesses and to the entire community are too great to let municipal delays get in the way:
- 5G will supercharge local job growth — With the potential to attract new businesses, it's estimated 5G will create nearly 3,000 jobs in St. Louis with an estimated growth of $461 million to our local economy.
- 5G will improve city services, transportation and public safety — First responders could coordinate faster, sharing vital emergency information in real-time. Smart pavement and traffic lights could cut congestion. We may even see safer streets and neighborhoods thanks to better security monitoring and smart lighting.
- 5G will lower health care costs while elevating care — Raising the potential of virtual healthcare to new levels, and making remote care even more effective and accessible to those who need it most.
This is your chance not only to deliver for your constituents, but to demonstrate thought leadership and be part of transforming our region into a national 5G leader. Please do whatever you can to help accelerate the 5G rollout for St. Louis.
Sincerely,
