End Horrifying Conditions in China's Fur Farms

In China there are no regulations governing fur farms and their practices. Undercover investigators recently toured fur farms in China and found horrible, barbaric conditions for the animals at these farms. Farmers can house and slaughter animals any way they see fit and frequently these animals live miserable lives and have excruciatingly painful deaths. Workers at these fur farms frequently skin these animals while they are still alive and struggling desperately when they are flipped onto their backs or hung by their legs or tails to skin them. When workers on these farms begin to cut the skin and fur from an animal's leg, the free limbs kick and writhe. Workers stomp on the necks and heads of animals who struggle too hard to allow a clean cut. When the fur is finally peeled off over the animals' heads, their naked, bloody bodies are thrown onto a pile of those who have gone before them. Some are still alive,
breathing in ragged gasps and blinking slowly. Some of the animals' hearts
are still beating five to 10 minutes after they are skinned.
China supplies more than half of the finished fur garments imported for sale in the United States. Even if a fur garment's label says it was made in
a European country, the animals were most likely raised and slaughtered elsewhere — possibly on an unregulated
Chinese fur farm.
Please sign this petition and let the Chinese government know that the treatment of these animals is unacceptable.

Stop China's Cruel Fur Farming Practices ! Dear Honorable Minister Han Changfu, I, the undersigned, am deeply opposed to the unacceptable treatment millions of animals are subjected to in China's unregulated fur farms. Undercover investigators of Chinese fur farms found that many animals were still alive and struggling desperately when workers flipped them onto their backs or hung them up by their legs or tails to skin them. When these workers began cutting the skin and fur from these still living animals' legs, their free limbs kick and writhe. If they struggle too hard, workers stomp on their necks and heads. When their fur is finally peeled off over their heads, their skinned and bloody bodies are thrown onto a pile of those who have gone before them. Some are still alive, breathing in ragged gasps and blinking slowly. Some of these animals' hearts are still beating 5 to 10 minutes after they are skinned alive. This heartless cruelty must stop. As the Minister of Agriculture in the People's Republic of China, you can make regulations regarding how these animals should be treated. Put an end to this cruel and barbaric practice. Continuing to ignore the cruelty and waste inherent in the fur industry is simply unacceptable. [your comment here] It has been said that one can tell alot about a society by the way it treats its animals. Please act immediately to end this reprehensible abuse and restore China's reputation as a humane and honorable society. Sincerely, [your name]
