Over 200,000 Boars Will Be Slaughtered in Poland Unless We Act Now

In spite of numerous demonstrations of the society Ministry of Agriculture and Environment has not withdrew  the regulation of slaughtering boars in Poland. Over 200 thousand animals are to be killed by the end of February.

The hunters are instructed to kill even pregnant sows and their offsprings, including those living on the areas of National Parks. And they will be paid for that! 

This regulation was issued under the pretext of the fight with the ASF virus although it is proved that main reason for spreading the virus are the huntings and lack of safety measures on farms.

It is cruel, scientifically unjustified, totally ineffective and absurd action, but the Minister doesn't listen to the voice of experts. The extinction of the whole population would bring about serious and irreversible damges to the natural environment since boars contribute greatly to biodiversity of the ecosystems they live in.
