Senator Joe Manchin has announced he will not be running for re-election this year. But more disturbingly, he said that instead he will be "traveling the country and speaking out to see if there is an interest in creating a movement to mobilize the middle and bring Americans together."

That sounds a LOT like he's planning a third-party run for President, possibly as the "No Labels" candidate for right-wingers who don't like Donald Trump but hate the social safety net even more.

A Joe Manchin third-party run would only help Donald Trump, by siphoning away moderate independents and conservatives who find Trump's brand of MAGA radicalism to be too distasteful.

It's a wrench in the 2024 election that we cannot afford to have — our very democracy itself could be at stake.
