In an apartment complex in San Antonio, Texas, neighbors witnessed something unthinkable -- one of the residents of the building
repeatedly, violently beating a terrified poodle puppy.One resident thought quickly and got much of the woman's attack on video. Now, we're asking for justice for this poor dog.Sign the petition demanding this woman be sentenced to a lifetime ban on animal ownership!The
footage is incredibly hard to watch. The woman can be seen on her apartment balcony, crouching down over the puppy, which is partially hidden by a crate. The woman is holding onto the puppy's leash painfully tightly, and at one point she violently grasps what appears to be the puppy's head or face. Then, over and over again,
she raises her fist high above her and brings it down like a hammer onto the poor puppy's body.It is hard to comprehend how much
fear and pain this just 3-month-old baby must have felt.Thanks to this video evidence, an investigation was immediately started and we're grateful to say that the puppy was
removed from this woman's custody. While the legal proceedings are still underway, we can at least rest assured that this animal is safe and healing.
But the trauma it endured may last a lifetime.Getting a puppy is a huge responsibility, one that takes a lot of time, patience, and effort. But when you take on the responsibility of owning and raising a baby dog, you're rewarded with the unconditional love that pet has to offer. The fact that this woman could do this to an innocent animal, one with no defense and only love to give, is
utterly shameful. That's why we're pursuing sentencing that includes stopping her from ever owning animals in the future. If her neighbor had not gotten this footage of her to begin a thorough investigation, imagine what could've happened to this puppy behind closed doors!
She clearly cannot be trusted with the privilege of caring for a dog or any other creature. That is a privilege that she should lose.
