On Thursday, Donald Trump told commentators he didn't believe the upcoming presidential debate should be fact-checked. Rather than be held accountable for claims he makes, Trump said we need a moderator who will just "let them argue it out."

Not having a moderator check the accuracy of his claims would certainly be an advantage for Trump. Politifact rates 70% of his statements as false, mostly false, or "pants on fire." Only 4% of his statements rate as "true" by the organization.

He claims to have given $102 million to charity, but after an analysis of his IRS returns, this number was labelled untrue and he appears to be the least charitable billionaire. Last year, he claimed that while he was in New Jersey and saw the Twin Towers collapse, he saw "thousands of people cheering." This was also terrifyingly false. In June, he called climate change - the phenomenon scientists are saying is one of the worst crises to face humanity - a "Chinese hoax." Donald Trump's statements are not just manipulations or inaccuracies - they are entirely fabricated.
